Mr. McLeod has been the Architect of Record for hundreds of office buildings, retail facilities, restaurants, warehouses, and parking garages located throughout the United States. Don holds architectural licenses in twenty-six states and has qualifications certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Don began his professional career as a licensed architect in 1972 as the chief architect for Baker Firestone Properties in Stamford, Connecticut, where he was the Architect of Record for all of the firm’s design-build projects. In this position, Don held multiple roles as a developer, a contractor, and an architect. Don facilitated the forming of Firestone Properties in 1975 in Hialeah, Florida where he helped develop the firm by designing and building commercial and industrial projects across the United States until Firestone Properties moved to Virginia in 1980 and then became his client.

Don formed McLeod Architectural Group in 1980 and successfully grew the firm from a one-man office into an eleven-person office with annual billings in excess of one million dollars, providing quality architectural services for a wide variety of projects. Don was the Architect of Record for virtually all of McLeod Architectural Group’s projects and those of its sister company, MKM Architects. Some of Don’s recent projects include the new 330-seat Caldwell Theatre in Boca Raton (now called the Wick Theatre), the restoration of the historic Caribbean Marketplace, and the iconic Pennsylvania Avenue Garage in Miami Beach, an award-winning six-story parking garage with ground floor retail space. With more than forty years of experience as a professional architect and specifications writer, Don has solved a wide variety of building design challenges and brings his expertise to every project for the benefit of his clients. Originally from Connecticut, Don has been a proud resident of South Florida since 1975. Don’s objective is to serve his clients with prompt, efficient, and excellent architectural services delivered on a timely basis.
